Experience
Dance
I practiced dance throughout my entire academic education.
My dance study began at a performing arts elementary school, into middle and high school, and then I declared it my major in higher education. By 2015, I achieved a B.F.A. in Dance with an International Studies Minor.
The styles I had practiced in grade school and community college were Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Ballet. The upside of practicing those techniques brought a lot of strength, flexibility, and discipline. Although the competition factor and entertainment style was a definite downside, especially as I got older. The superficial practices were obviously geared toward tricks and impressions and it began to feel meaningless. By the time I got to community college, I found myself feeling so discontent that I was questioning why I wanted to continue and even considered stopping. When I found out I was accepted into San Diego State University, I decided to give it one more chance.
Thankfully SDSU completely restructured my perspective and relationship with dance. My first couple years felt like a long dismantling process of the old technique conditioning. Even though I still studied modern and ballet, the school specialized in a contemporary, post-modern, and somatic approach that questioned the very meaning of movement and brought a new level of awareness. The intellectual, experimental and unconventional curriculum impressed and inspired me beyond my expectation. It finally made sense as to why I had been so fascinated with the body and intrigued by the artistic expression of dance.
I'm excited to share the fusion of these creative, mindful, and forward-thinking movement practices with an energetic framework. It's important for you to have a proper place to express your emotions. Where you're encouraged to not worry about the way you look, but guided to focus more on exploring different ways to articulate your body. And to take time deepening a connection with your intricate systems and appreciate its fascinating makeup. Regardless if you're a beginner or an advanced mover, the depth of knowledge around the progressive concepts and theories will bring an innovative and fresh perspective to your practice and everyday life.

Yoga
I'm a yoga instructor certified in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Stand Up Paddleboard, and Children's.
I had practiced yoga on and off for about 8 years throughout college. First at school and studios, then at the comfort of my own home through online classes. After graduating, I completed a 200-hour Hatha and Vinyasa Teacher Training just before I found out I was pregnant. So after a long pregnancy and postpartum transition, I was graciously allowed to retake the entire 200-hour training a second time. BIG shout out to the Wellness Lounge in San Diego, they're so understanding and generous.
By 2018, I was an official RYT-200 and went wild with certifications in Yin, Stand Up Paddleboard and Children's Yoga.
What came to a surprise during my training was learning about the 8 limbs, which includes the philosophy of the Yamas and Niyamas. That's when I realized that "yoga" was a way of BEing. I learned how to balance my body and mind to create equanimity for living in peace, good health, and harmony with the greater whole.
Within Embodied Ritual, most of the yoga that's interweaved is based on the physical practice (asana) as it is a great way to warm-up, cool-down, strengthen, and rehabilitate the body-mind. The Yamas and Niyamas are also included to help influence your awareness for an ethical way of living. I'm happy to share various styles and durations in an online program to support your practice anywhere you're comfortable at.

Spiritual Advancements
My spiritual awakening began in December of 2012.
I was in Egypt at a festival called "The Great Convergence" where I celebrated my birthday on December 22nd, completely oblivious to the transformational scene and the dawning of a new era. The 3 days were filled with unforgettable experiences! One evening I deeply felt the initiation that changed the course of my life. There was a ceremony inside the King's Chamber of The Great Pyramid where I felt mass amounts of energy running through my body as I cried and cried for no apparent reason. Immediately after coming home, I moved out of my mother's house for the first time and studied abroad in Melbourne, Australia. After completing a semester abroad and traveling for a month, I returned home as a completely different person.
As the years have passed, I kept the evolutionary spirit alive by focusing on my spiritual growth. By studying energy healing, being part of international ceremonies, and practicing rituals in personal and communal settings, I kept feeling myself shift into a happier and healthier person. And I still do to this day.
Formally, I'm certified in Level One for both Reiki and Pranic Healing. Informally, I also work intuitively with rituals that may involve some or all of the natural elements, and, of course, movement. My practices and study have been a mixture of class informed and self-taught experiences.
At the start of 2019, I enrolled in a year-long spiritual course called Soul Shift with Athena Perrakis, founder of Sage Goddess. It incorporated astrology, frequencies, mantras, herbs, crystals, essential oils, candles, crafts, lectures, readings, rituals, and altars that are dedicated around a monthly theme and celebrated with different deities from various cultures. It became a huge influence on the way I work, especially after completing the program.
With no hesitation, I decided to continue studying with Athena and completed her 2020 program, Soul Shift: Pillars of Priestessing. I broaden the depth of my spiritual practice by training in spiritual feminine leadership, crystal healing, energy healing, shamanic journeying, and ceremonial crafting. After completing Soul Shift, I was initiated as a Priestess and certified as a Crystal Healer and Angelofos Practitioner (Athena's signature light code activation symbols).
Now, I'm expanding my practice through Soul Shift: Alchemize, Athena's 2021 program. By the end of the year when I complete Soul Shift, I will be initiated as a Spiritual Alchemist and certified as an Elemental Healer and Crystal Master.
Because these metaphysical experiences have dramatically changed my life, I've realized the best way I can help you is by guiding your progressive journey in a spiritual setting. Embodied Ritual emerged when my intention revolved around establishing a sacred container to hold movement explorations. So you can have time and space to deeply connect with yourself, experience your flow, embrace your creativity, and trust in the development of your process. Together we will commune with the spirit realm, express gratitude through offerings, and celebrate the divinity within and around us. Whether you're just starting to experience your cosmic force or you're well along your path, I honestly believe you'll receive the medicine you need in Embodied Ritual.

Story
The Catalyst Experience
My soul's work sparked at an 18-day festival on a Caribbean beach in Panama during February of 2018.
I attended the event with my beloved and our 10-month old daughter. I was in an extremely vulnerable time of my life as I had become a new mom, committed to raising a family with a man I was still getting to know (became pregnant 3 months into our relationship) and completely let go of my life long dream of being a dance artist.
At the event, I was in the early worm-hole portal of motherhood that had shaken up my entire being and shattered who I thought I was. Yet the one aspect that was consistent was my spirituality. It seemed to have grown stronger as I transformed into a mother. Even though I felt anxious, hormonal, exhausted and desperate, I knew I was meant to be at the event. There was a deep-seated knowing that something profound was awaiting.
With the last bit of hope I had for my true self to emerge, I offered my prayers in ceremonies, rituals, workshops, celebrations, and stillness. By the end of the event, I learned how important it was for me to sustain my ancestral roots and wisdom. I realized how much I empowered myself through sacred offerings. And with the answers of my prayers, I remembered how vital it was for me to continue dancing.
After all that came to surface, it was obvious that what I may attempt to pursue after the festival will be in a way I've never done before. My life began to gather new ways to progress upon a new path as I started to make my way back home.

Rising of the Pheonix
It was slow and steady like a tide progressing and receding on the shore.
During the 18-day festival in Panama, 2018, there were both dark and light aspects that made my entire catalyst experience whole. Throughout the first half, I was slowing down, softening, crying, closing in and pleading with prayer. Then seamlessly into the second half, I began expanding, sharing, focusing, opening, expressing and becoming alive. All the experiences that I had of connecting through dance made it crystal clear that movement had a deeper meaning in my life than it ever did before. I felt a new sense of devotion to dance when I left the festival.
Once I arrived home, I had to take about a month to transition back into society because a lot of re-calibration was needed. With a new spark of an old flame, there was a calling for me to start sharing my passion for movement. I reached out to a trusted friend to be my business mentor after my daughter's 1st birthday. There was so much excitement that I had a boost of confidence and I felt ready to make a year-long commitment to solidify my business. So I began the path of birthing my soul's work.
After 9-months of trial and error, I was on the verge of quitting when I expressed how disconnected I felt doing everything I was passionate about separately. After a good reality check from my mentor, she guided me in piecing together my purposeful offering and that's when Embodied Ritual was born. Within the last quarter of our mentorship, I let go of what wasn't serving my new path and gained clarity on how I needed to go about the vision. I also went back to the life-changing 18-day festival in 2019 and came back with more unforgettable memories that brought me to whole-heartedly believing in my soul's work.
In April of 2019, the mentorship was closed and I left the nest to soar to new heights. With a stronger sense of faith, I'm continuing to move forward and will remember to keep my spirit alive by sharing the work that truly inspires me.
